OBS: Theorical lectures will be held in the auditorium, 9th floor, room 9118 of the Central Institute, and practical lectures will be held in the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Service, Central Institute, Hospital das Clinicas.

Optical Chromoscopy – NBI Narrow Band imaging

 

 

Practical Activities:

Endoscopy and Colonoscopy exams observation, using optical chromoscopy.

 

Theorical Activities:

Endoscopic submucosal disection in the treatment of early gastrointesinal cancer, reafirming concepts in indications, techniques and results.

 

Practical Activities:

Hands on endoscopic submucosal disection in live animals (pigs), mimicking the real situation, with the posibility that complications of the technique ocurr (bleeding, perforation) and implementing the apropiate endoscopic treatments.

Hands On practice in endoscopic submucosal dissection

Date: Saturday  – November 5th, 2011 from 08h00 to 17h00

Place: Experimental surgery discipline and surgical techniques, Surgical Department School of medicine, São Paulo University

Adress: Av. Dr. Arnaldo, 455 – 4th floor.

Work dynamics: The 20 doctors will be distributed in 5 working stations, each one composed of 4 of them and 1 instructor. The esophageal and gastric ESD procedures will be practiced on live animals (pigs), under general anesthesia, according with the principles and norms established by the institution, meeting current laws and regulations.
